Some portraits of Copernicus

I said that I was going to write a post about the portraits of this Polish astronomer when I talk about his house in Torun. So here you have some examples of them although most of them have been already already shown in the past posts. The first one is portrait painted in 1820.

This bust was made in 1873 by Wiktor Brodzki (1826-904):

The next is a copy made by Jozef Flik in 1989:

Flick is also the author of copy (1981) of this portrait of the 17th century from the collection of Jagiellonian University in Krakow:

There is also a copy of the missing so-called Goluchów portrait of the 16th c. made by Nora Zinck in 1944:

Two “new” paintings complete the collection. The first one is called “The Last Instants of Nicholas Copernicus” and was painted by Aleksander Lesser (1814-1884):
